Or, with the print head installed, turn the printer off and on. I put it in and the printer worked great I was able to align the heads, print a test page, and print a few. Install the print head properly, and close the access cover. I read that 5 blinks means - "The print head is not installed, or it is not properly installed (EEPROM data of the print head is faulty). With the new print head installed, I get 5 times orange at first, but if I open the top lead then I get: long green-orange-green-orange, and the carriage is absolutely still. Instead the Stop/Resume and Power buttons are used to enter service mode. ![]() You don't use a service tool to perform service mode operations on these old printers. The manuals had info about the EEPROM print, but sadly they had not included the hex dump. ![]() With the old print head, I get 5 times orange light, and the carriage moves ok. I checked the service manuals for the iP3000 and the other printers you mentioned. Without any print head installed, there is no error signal. ![]() It gave me a 5 times orange light, so I purchased a replacement refurbished print head, model QY6-0064.
